Trophy Skin MicrodermMD - The Results Revealed

It's been eight weeks since I started using the Trophy Skin MicrodermMD which is an at-home microdermabrasion machine. Here is my complete review with before and after pictures, plus an ingenious experiment to treat the back of my left hand only!
Picture
The whole procedure for the face, neck and decolletage area takes just five minutes if completed using the auto function. I find this the easiest way to fit the treatment into my routine as I don't have to worry about changing the power level or how long I spend on a specific area, as the machine guides you through the process and automates the power level accordingly.

I consider my skin to be sensitive as I am fair. I've also had a lot of sun exposure over the years which is now reflected with quite a ruddy complexion. So, I've been doing the treatment two times a week (instead of three), generally at the end of the day when I take my makeup off. I'll wash my face and use the MicrodermMD before adding any lotion. When the treatment is complete, my skin is a little red which doesn't last long, nor does it hurt, and I promptly soothe it with some witch hazel, and then apply my usual serum and moisturizer. The redness subsides shortly after.

Once I've completed my face area, I switch to manual mode and adjust the power level up to 7 and do the back of my left hand. I just glide the wand over the skin from the wrist to the knuckles one strip at a time and repeat in the other direction, perhaps covering the area three times maximum!

The hand experiment has been a fun and interesting strategy. Whenever I'm out with friends, I present them both of my hands and ask them which one looks younger - not a single person has got it wrong yet! In fact everyone I've asked has pointed at the hand treated by the MicrodermMD without hesitation!

You can actually use the Trophy Skin MicrodermMD on any part of the body where you have exposed skin that may need rejuvenation.  It can be used to treat elbows, feet, legs and so on. Generally you would do both halves of the pair, unless like me, you want your very own success rate monitor, and don't mind if your hands look like they belong to two different people!

The Trophy Skin MicrodermMD  uses a diamond tip wand rubbed across the surface of the skin. This  breaks up the dead cells separating them from the skin's surface. At the same time a vacuum action generated from the machine removes the dead particles from the skin's surface.

A tiny filter captures the debris, and this is discarded after each use and replaced with a new one. As you can see above, the machine has been effective in removing dead skin particles.

Before and after!
Since using the Trophy Skin MicrodermMD I've noticed a distinctively dewy look to my complexion, which previously I would try to achieve creatively with makeup. I first noticed this during an outfit shoot, when upon inspection of the photos noticed my face looked shiny ha ha! I eventually figured out this was likely due to the microdermabrasion treatments, as my dull dead skin cells had been buffed away leaving a more polished surface. So for the first time in years I now take powder with me to a photo shoot, which is fine, because generally I'm wearing a lot less makeup as my skin is looking better!

Around my mouth, my "talk too much" lines show a very slight improvement, although I still talk too much - no improvement there!

Also the general texture of my skin feels a lot softer and smoother to the touch, plus my moisturizers are absorbed much quicker.

The hands are a big give away to age, and mine have started to show signs of age spots, crepeness, and fine lines. Using the machine, only on the left hand has proven to me that the MicrodermMD really is working and rejuvenating my skin. Now all I have to do is catch up my right hand to have the same youthful radiance as the left. Notice how the age spots and crepeness are minimized on the left hand!

Despite my bathroom being very small, this little box of beauty has some prime real estate reserved on the counter space. Without doubt the easiest at-home beauty treatment I've experienced with great results, no needles, no pain, no down time and no getting a second mortgage to pay for it!

Overall, I'm very pleased with the results and will certainly keep it up. I can barely find time to get a hair cut these days as the older I get the more beauty management there is to do! Therefore the MicrodermMD five minute maintenance marvel is a tribute to my on-the-go beauty maintenance routine and high on my agenda to keep up that youthful radiance.

The convenience of doing this in your own home and on your own schedule is undoubtedly the biggest asset, not to mention the cost saving by avoiding multiple salon visits!

Late to the party, here. I just discovered your Instagram and blog, and I love it! You have excellent taste.
My skin is too sensitive and delicate for microdermabrasion, but I am interested in the devices that do subdermal muscle stimulation. One that comes to mind is Suzanne Somers' Facemaster. There are others, some are stronger, some work a little differently. Most are some type of galvanic current.
My main concern is, are they safe to use? I have heard warnings that the electronic stimulation isn't good for the face and head area; i.e. a potential health risk. Also, do they work? I do facial exercises...facial yoga...and I do see a difference. IF the Facemaster, et al safe, and works, I'd be willing to spend the money. It seems it might be more effective.
I am wondering if you are familiar with these products, have ever used them, and could tell me about it?
I'd appreciate any information you could give me. Thank you so much.

Hi Jerri,

Thank you for your kind words. I have never tried anything concerning subdermal muscle stimulation, nor have I heard about it, although I'm not surprised that there is such a thing. I couldn't possibly comment on this form of treatment.

Hi Karen
Thanks for your quick reply. Hopefully with more research, I'll find out what I need to know. As I'm sure you know, the internet (and doctors) are full of conflicting information!
For now I'll keep up my safe, tried and true facial exercises. Thank you again
Best,
Jerri
