The ravages of a well spent youth are reflected in many ways as we leave one era of our lives and begin the next. Lines, wrinkles, blemishes and lack of elasticity appear to a greater or lesser degree depending on the level of "well spent" we're dealing with! It's a natural progression but can still be hard to accept, especially when the vision reflected back at us in the mirror is not representative of how we feel inside - wrinkle free and much the same as we've always felt!
As I've mentioned before when I've talked about beauty, I'm no archangel when it comes to taking care of my skin. I never seem to have time for facials or beauty treatments and I can always find a pair of shoes that I need more than a spa day! That being said, I've become much more aware of the need to nurture my midlife skin, and if I can do so conveniently in my own home, without it taking up a boat load of time and money, then I'm all over it like a new pair of shoes.
And, with Mother's Day just around the corner, a beauty treatment is always a welcome gift. Especially a treatment you can perform at home as often as you want and fits in with your own schedule. Trophy Skin beauty systems are just that, easy-to-use beauty machines that you can use in the privacy of your own home and on your own schedule.
TheTrophy Skin MicrodermMD was the recommended product for me based upon my skin type and problem areas. Specifically I want to address wrinkles, skin discoloration and hopefully reveal a more youthful glow. The machine comes in a neat and compact hard case in white and rose gold which looks attractive enough to keep out in full view when not in use. This makes it easier to remember to use it regularly to achieve the best results.
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive treatment that gently sloughs off dead skin cells. The Trophy Skin MicrodermMD uses a diamond tip wand over the surface of the skin combined with suction from the machine that stimulates an increase in collagen production and rejuvenation by way of cell turnover.
The convenience of being able to give yourself a microdermabrasion treatment at any time that suits you rivals the prospect of going to the salon and paying a costly bill each time. Plus, one session alone will have little impact. As with most beauty treatments, there needs to be consistency over a period of time for the benefits to show, which ultimately can be costly when going to the salon, on average anywhere between $75 to $150 per visit for microdermabrasion.
I'd never had a microdermabrasion in my life before so I had no idea what to expect, but was excited to try the Trophy Skin product. I have deep lines around my mouth which according to my husband is due to all the talking I've done over the years ha ha! So this is the main area I'm looking forward to seeing some improvement in... the talking not so much!
For those like me, there's an idiots guide to using the machine - Auto Mode is programmed for each area of the face, neck and chest. The machine directs you to which part to work on, how long to spend there and shows you which way to sweep the wand. It automatically adjusts the power level to an appropriate intensity for each part of the skin's surface. Unfortunately I didn't quite have that figured out on my first go, so I did the whole process at level 1 which obviously had little to no impact. Ha ha!
A couple of days later I tried it again, and this time I figured out the auto mode, it's plainly obvious unless you're me! This made it so much easier. I could feel the pressure levels adjusting as it directed me to the next phase and which way to sweep the wand. It was all over in 5 minutes. I changed the filter and low and behold there were skin particles trapped, so it had done it's job. My face felt slightly tingly and a little red but only for a few minutes. I applied lashings of moisturizer and went about my day.
I've been using the machine two to three times a week for two weeks now. The best part is it's so quick and convenient. Five minutes is all it takes, and I can do it anywhere there is a power socket as the machine conveniently has everything I need in the box including a 5 x magnifying mirror that shows way more than I would rather see!
Now that I've got the hang of this, I will continue to use it for a few more weeks and report back on my progress. I'm excited for my new skin to reveal itself.
