What better time of year than spring to bust out some silk in bright vivid colors, especially colors that can be seen from outer space! A silk buttondown shirt is a classic that stands the test of time, you can be sure it will re-appear merged with different outfits year after year which also makes it a good investment!
Every year Anthropologie comes out with something to WOW over and they have a knack for hitting the resort style spot on so without further ado, let's get right into vacation mode. This shirt is resort style elegance that sends me drifting off to Cannes or Portofino in my dreams! Well if I have the shirt, I'm one step closer, right... baby steps!
The pattern is reminiscent of yesteryear Versace minus the lion heads and Greek key pattern. The hot pink and orange is a phenomenon that surprisingly works well. I love it paired with the flared white pants, as well as wide-leg linen pants for a more relaxed style, perfect for a saunter along Boulevard de la Croisette! It looks great with white jeans and a tan belt and tan sandals also.
Made of super lightweight silk it feels barely there, another good reason I need this for the season ahead living in the desert! I just happened to have the pink shoes and Kendra Scott earrings already, but orange or white accessories would fit in comfortably. It's a shirt you can have a lot of fun with including paired with blue jeans or black pants, although white is my favorite as it really makes the colors pop!
The white pants are also a new favorite. These particular ones are from Zara and I've linked them HERE. They're comfortable, cool and look great with a myriad of tops from shirts and blouses to graphic tees for a more edgy vibe. Unless you're 6'10" you'll probably need them shortened! They start out very long even if you wear heels high enough to give you altitude sickness. Flared leg pants are very flattering for most body types, they totally elongate the legs creating a visual of height and an overall slim silhouette. I've also linked a few other very classy options below which are super stylish and totally chic.
The small white quilted Chanel clutch was a gift from the hubs several years ago and whilst it doesn't come out to play often, when it does it's like I have a new bag every time. I will no doubt have this bag forever, so I probably need to make room for it in my will! That and the shirt!
