Even though it's Christmas and Hanukkah next weekend, there are still plenty of party nights we can fit in between now and New Year's Eve. So whether it's a holiday gathering with friends or a more formal affair, I think the next four outfits have you covered. 1. SequinsThis first look is something I would wear to a gathering of friends or family. It's relaxed and informal, but the gold sequins and strappy heels throw the look into holiday mode. Similar Jeans I Splendid Cardigan I Similar Sequined Top I Similar Clutch I Vince Camuto Shoes (currently on sale in suede) I Monogram Necklace 2. Floaty Cut Out TopThis look is a bit more glamorous but with an edge. Even though it's all black, there's plenty of intrigue. The cut out detail, the high low hem line in the floaty chiffon fabric, and the small but effective glint of sparkle around the neck - all very flirty and edgy at the same time. Same pants and shoes as in the previous look, but added a high sparkle crystal minaudiere to raise the bar! Similar Jeans I BCBG Top (old) Similar I Similar Bebe Minaudiere I Vince Camuto Shoes (currently on sale in black suede) 3. Sophisticated LookThis look is made up of a dress and pashmina I've had for many years. The reason it still works today is because the Jenny Packham dress (a British designer) is timeless, it's a true classic. A simple iconic shift dress in ivory with pearls and diamonds decorating the neckline. I love it. The pashmina is a rich black velvet, with an ivory satin lining that matches the dress perfectly. I originally had the pashmina to wear with a long gown years ago. I still find an occassion to bring it out every year! This particular dress I also wear during the day sometimes. It's a soft twill fabric and very comfortable. I made the original round neckline into a sweatheart neckline by pinching the fabric and sewing a stitch to hold it in place. I think it makes the dress look so much prettier. It's amazing how versatile a plain black dress can be - from the boardroom to the cocktail party, simply by adding some statement jewels. Vintage Necklace & Earings Set (old) I Similar French Connection Dress I Similar Bebe Minaudiere I Vince Camuto Shoes (currently on sale in black suede) Another great party look is featured in a blog I did on November 30th called Wide Leg Pants and Winter Whites - if you click on the link it will take you directly to the blog post. It's a sophisticated outfit, and works well around this time of year also. I hope you are enjoying your holiday time, and thanks for visiting with me.
