Long Skirt for a Long Season

With spring just around the corner and finally the reduction in layers of clothing, it's fun to start exploring the parts of your closet you closed down and said goodbye to as fall came upon us last year.  It always brings a renewed sense of inspiration to formulate new outfits or different pairings with existing clothes as we are tempted by the new seasons colors and styles.

In this look, the "new style" addition to the existing wardrobe pieces is the cross neck tee-shirt. A recent inexpensive purchase (less than $30) that has shown no signs of letting up.  The trend is still going strong, and I wear it to death!  It washes well, goes in the drier on low, and if hung immediately it doesn't require any ironing.

The skirt is last years having been tucked away in my closet for winter.  The best thing about it is the comfort factor. The soft stretchy knit fabric is lightweight, doesn't dig in around the waist so its very flattering, and it doesn't stretch out of shape if you sit in it for any period of time.  As you may know, I'm a big fan of stripes, they never seem to go out of fashion and they add pattern without the fuss.  I've linked a couple of similar skirts below.

Besides the look I created here, I also pair the skirt with a plain white tee-shirt.  This looks good with a long chain tassel necklace or similar.  In the dead of summer a racer-back tee works well, also a camisole top would look good, and an off the shoulder top in a tee-shirt type fabric.

My favorite look with long skirts like this is with sneakers or flat sandals.  I'm wearing it with white Superga sneakers here, but I also have some white/gray slide sandals that look good with it too.  The bag is a fun clutch that adds funky detail with chain hardware.  The blue aviator sunnies (love these) give the look a chic sporty vibe plus a tiny hint of color which is totally enhanced if you happen to throw on your blue denim jacket.  The denim jacket is a super cool addition to this look if you need a little layering.

This is a great outfit for spring through summer. It's comfortable,  very flattering, would be great for travelling in, and looks effortlessly cool!

Long skirt is stitched for the long season for the girls. Majority of the beautiful dresses have been introduced in the market according to the feelings and love of the girls.
