Crane birds are the latest graphic to turn iconic, rather like pineapples and pelicans in seasons past. My crush began last year with a pair of crane bird palazzo pants, and now continues with two recent finds that are so inexpensive they're bound to fly off the racks before you can say "Get the flock out of here!"
First up, this crane bird shirt from H&M - $34.99. It's a wide-cut satin fabric of a heavier than normal weight which provides a good fall and drape. It's slinky with deep broad cuffs, red piping detail and feels like wearing a lose fitting jacket or kimono. Despite the weight, it's surprisingly cool and possibly one of the comfiest blouses I possess. It's non-form fitting silhouette and thickness makes it a bra-free advocate adding to the comfort factor.
It works just as well with flats as it does dressed up with heels. It also works with a variety of pant styles from smart to casual. Since my outfits above were predominantly black, I added the red bag to highlight the red piping on the shirt.
The possibilities go on an on with this shirt. I'm struggling to find anything more pleasurable to wear right now, it feels luxurious against the skin and is a major win in the style category. It runs very large - I've sized down two sizes for a less billowing effect.
Next up, this wrap, kimono, cover-up, whatever... call it what you want, it's the jewel in the crane crown!
Long at the front, short at the back and proper arm holes so it doesn't slip off! Twirl away in this emerald green (they call it teal) Asian inspired wrap. It would also make the perfect beach cover up.
This wrap is from Forever 21 - $17.90. It comes in two sizes, this one I'm wearing is S/M. It's only available in store so I don't have a link to it below, but here is the bar code number: 00242819021 and the style number: C00141 should you want to seek it out!
If you like either of these pieces, better hurry before they take flight... ha ha! Link to crane bird shirt and similar pieces below to get the look!
Have a wonderful weekend lovelies!
