It's still over 90 degrees in Arizona as I write this blog. Despite the heat, I'm going to wear jeans whether I melt or not. Arizona must be one of the top selling markets in the country for white jeans. They're a wardrobe staple for everyone who lives here as far as I can tell.
These J Brand jeans are my favorite white jeans at the moment. Even better, Nordstrom is currently price matching, so they are 25% off. Click the link to get them while you can. The print smock neck top was a great find at Nordstroms for only $35. I love the high smocked neckline, the loose fit, which covers a multitude of sins after a good lunch and a glass of wine, and how easy and effortless it is to wear. The blush and gray pattern on the dark navy background pairs well with dark blue jeans too. Patent blush studded heels are totally feminine. These look very similar to the Valentino style but were a snip of the price, also from Nordstrom by Halogen. They look so flirty with the distressed jeans and the frayed hems. To complete the look, these totally fun earings are from Baublebar. They're very comfortable as they are really light weight, so they don't stretch out my limp earlobes! Here's to another glass of wine. Cheers!

On a recent visit to Nordstroms at the Scottsdale Fashion Square, just to take a peek and check out the fall booties, I ended up buying these Vince Camuto lace up block heel sandals. It was love at first sight. They're comfortable, super trendy, and the soft suede and warm tan color is perfect for the fall here in Arizona, plus they totally dress up the look of so many outfits. Despite being 4 inches high, I can walk easily in them because the block heel is very stabilizing - I feel well grounded!
Of course, new shoes must go out for lunch, so we went to AZ88 in Old Town Scottsdale. A fun hip restaurant where my shoes felt totally at home. I paired them with my most distressed boyfriend jeans, rolled up so to show off the tied laces around the ankle. I've had the jeans for years. They're from The Gap, and they started out with just a couple of rips. They've become more lovable with age, just like us ladies! The leopard print sleeveless blouse is an H&M wardrobe staple, also something I've had in my closet for years, but it just keeps on working - like an old Chevy van. A light weight scarf is a must have during the warmer months in Arizona, because everywhere you go the air conditioning is always cranked up, so this provides a little coverage over my shoulders to take the edge off the chill if necessary. I've accumulated scarves over the years in varying colors so they can be paired with different outfits, plus they add a little flair whether carried or draped around the neck. Finally the handbag was an inexpensive purchase from Aldo. Just a plain shopper style in faux saffiano leather, cost less than $50 and looks much more expensive. It's had so many complements, especially as I dressed it up with the giant fur pom pom. I'm always thrilled when I can revamp old clothes into a new outfit, and sometimes all it takes is a new pair of shoes! The booties will have to wait. Love Karen |
